Rangers Part Ways with Head Coach Russell Martin
Russell Martin has been dismissed from his position as head coach of Rangers after just 17 matches, with the club stating that "while all transition periods require some time, results have not met expectations."
The 39-year-old's tenure came to an end following a 1-1 draw against Falkirk on Sunday. After the match, Martin was escorted by police from the stadium as fans attempted to halt the team bus's departure.
Martin faced increasing criticism from supporters at Ibrox due to a disappointing start to the season. Rangers struggled to secure their first win in the Scottish Premiership until late September and suffered a humiliating 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs in August.
