Roma Makes Offer for Jadon Sancho Amidst Training Exclusion at Manchester United
Roma has submitted an offer to acquire England winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, where he is currently excluded from first-team training.
Sources at Manchester United have not disclosed the amount of the bid from the Serie A club, nor have they confirmed whether it has been accepted.
This offer highlights the interest in the 25-year-old player, who has been advised to seek a new club before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Juventus, which has qualified for this season's Champions League, is also reported to be interested in Sancho.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger returned to United this summer after Chelsea paid a £5 million penalty to avoid an obligation to purchase him, following a loan spell at Stamford Bridge last season.
There have been indications that Roma may prefer a loan arrangement, potentially with clauses that could be activated at the end of the season.
However, this situation is complicated by the fact that Sancho's contract with United expires next summer. The club possesses an option to extend the contract by an additional year, but given Sancho's salary, it is uncertain whether they would be inclined to exercise that option.
Manchester United is intent on selling Sancho, but as the September deadline approaches without a finalized deal, they may consider a loan move, which would alleviate a significant portion of their wage bill.
Four players, including Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrrell Malacia, have been training away from head coach Ruben Amorim's squad since the start of pre-season last month, as the club anticipates their departure before the transfer window closes.
