Southampton Signs Finn Azaz from Middlesbrough
Southampton has secured the signing of Finn Azaz, an attacking midfielder from Middlesbrough, on a four-year contract.
The 24-year-old has joined the club for an initial fee of £12 million, which could increase to £14 million with performance-related add-ons, according to reports from BBC Radio Solent.
In his career, Azaz has made 93 appearances, contributing to 46 goals while playing for both Middlesbrough and Plymouth Argyle in the second tier.
He joined Middlesbrough from Aston Villa in January 2024, where he made 68 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists.
“It feels amazing; this has been talked about for a little while,” Azaz stated on the Southampton website. “I’m really happy to be here and I’m very excited to prove that I can perform at a Premier League level.”
“I know we’re currently in the Championship, but we are aiming to operate at a Premier League standard to ultimately achieve promotion, win the league, and return to the Premier League.”
