Stephen Robinson Extends St Mirren Tenure Until 2028
Stephen Robinson has signed a new contract as manager of St Mirren, extending his stay at the club until 2028.
Assistant manager Brian Kerr has also secured a new deal.
Robinson, 50, took the helm at St Mirren in 2022 and has led the team to top-six finishes in each of the past three seasons.
“I’m pleased the board has recognized the hard work that Brian and I have put in over the last three years with three top-six finishes,” said Robinson, who previously managed Motherwell. “This achievement is a testament to the entire staff at the football club, both on and off the pitch.”
Robinson expressed enthusiasm about the future, stating, “I feel like we’re right at the beginning of another process. There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but we are all focused on pushing in the right direction.”
The Northern Irish manager added that St Mirren's goal remains “another top-six finish.”
Chairman John Needham remarked, “We’re thrilled that Stephen has extended his contract and committed his future to St Mirren for another year. The progress we have made as a club in recent years is evident, and Stephen and his coaching team have been instrumental in that.”
“We want to continue building on the successes of the last three seasons, and this new contract reflects our ambition as a club to sustain that momentum,” he added.
St Mirren, who recently drew at home against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, will host Hearts in the upcoming Premier Sports Cup tie this Saturday.
