Trent Alexander-Arnold Injured in Champions League Debut for Real Madrid
Trent Alexander-Arnold's debut in the UEFA Champions League for Real Madrid ended abruptly due to injury, occurring just three minutes into the match against Marseille.
The 26-year-old defender, who transferred from his longtime club Liverpool at the conclusion of last season, was selected to start at right-back over Dani Carvajal at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
However, Alexander-Arnold sustained what appeared to be a hamstring injury while pursuing the ball. He quickly sat down on the pitch and signaled to the bench for a substitution, leading to Carvajal replacing him in the fifth minute of the game.
The extent of Alexander-Arnold's injury is yet to be determined, but there are concerns that he may miss the upcoming match against Liverpool, which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, as part of the Champions League.
This injury adds to the challenges for Alexander-Arnold, who has only started two of Real Madrid's four La Liga matches this season and was omitted from Thomas Tuchel's squad for the September World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
