Victor Boniface Set to Join AC Milan, Impacting Hojlund's Future
Victor Boniface, the striker from Bayer Leverkusen, is nearing a loan transfer to AC Milan, a move that could jeopardize Rasmus Hojlund's prospects of joining the Serie A club.
AC Milan had been interested in securing Hojlund on loan from Manchester United.
However, the 22-year-old Danish forward has delayed the agreement due to the proposed structure, which lacked an obligation to buy.
Milan has now shifted their focus to Boniface, proposing a similar arrangement that includes only an option for a permanent transfer next summer.
Meanwhile, Napoli is also searching for a forward after Romelu Lukaku sustained a thigh injury that may sideline him for up to four months.
Earlier this month, Hojlund expressed his desire to stay at Manchester United following an inconsistent couple of seasons.
Since then, his club has acquired Slovenia international Benjamin Sesko for £73.7 million.
Hojlund did not feature in United's last pre-season match against Fiorentina and was completely left out of Ruben Amorim's squad for the Premier League defeat against Arsenal.
Amorim explained his decision, stating that Hojlund shared similar characteristics with Sesko, who made his debut against Arsenal as a substitute.
