Harry Wilson will captain Wales for the first time in Tuesday's crucial World Cup qualifier against North Macedonia.
With regular captains Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies sidelined due to injuries, and Ethan Ampadu suspended after leading Wales to a 1-0 victory against Liechtenstein on Saturday, the 28-year-old Fulham playmaker will don the armband for the first time in his senior career, both at club and international levels.
Wales must secure a victory against North Macedonia at Cardiff City Stadium to finish second in their World Cup qualifying group, which would ensure a home play-off semi-final scheduled for March.
Should they lose, Wales will still qualify for the play-offs due to their success in the Nations League; however, they will be required to play their semi-final away from home. The location for the final, also a one-legged match like the semi-final, will be determined by a draw on Thursday.
