Arsenal's Martin Odegaard Out Until After November International Break

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is not expected to return from a knee injury until after the November international break.

The midfielder sustained a medial collateral ligament injury during the Gunners' victory over West Ham on October 4, requiring him to be substituted in the first half of the match.

Arsenal confirmed the following day that Odegaard would miss the current international window, although they did not provide a specific timeline for his recovery.

It is now anticipated that the 26-year-old will remain sidelined until after the upcoming international fixtures in mid-November.

This news means Odegaard will miss crucial Premier League matches against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Burnley, and Sunderland, as well as Champions League encounters with Atletico Madrid and Slavia Prague.

This setback is particularly disappointing for manager Mikel Arteta, given Odegaard's significance to the team.

Odegaard's season has been marred by injury issues, having been forced off in the first half of three consecutive Premier League games.

Arsenal will face their north London rivals Tottenham immediately following the international break, and it remains uncertain whether Odegaard will be fit in time for the derby on November 23.

Meanwhile, Norway made a significant stride towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup by defeating Israel 5-0 on Saturday. If they secure qualification, it will mark their first appearance in an international tournament since 2000.
