Bellingham Shines in Dortmund's 4-2 Victory Against Copenhagen
Jobe Bellingham made his first goal contribution since joining Borussia Dortmund, as Felix Nmecha's brace propelled the German club to a 4-2 victory over Copenhagen.
After a £27 million transfer from Sunderland this summer, Bellingham has struggled for playing time in the Bundesliga. However, he marked his second consecutive Champions League start by assisting Nmecha's opening goal.
The German forward received Bellingham's pass in the 20th minute and unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area.
Copenhagen equalized in a rather comical fashion; goalkeeper Gregor Kobel initially thwarted a low shot following a corner, but could only watch as Ramy Bensebaini's attempted clearance deflected off teammate Waldemar Anton and found the back of the net.
Bensebaini redeemed himself in the 61st minute, converting a penalty after Serhou Guirassy was fouled in the area.
Nmecha netted his second goal of the evening in the 76th minute, as his shot took a deflection, leaving Copenhagen goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski wrong-footed.
Despite Bellingham's eagerness to score his first goal for the club, it was former Wolves player Fabio Silva who secured a late fourth goal for Dortmund.
Copenhagen managed a late consolation goal through Viktor Dadason's header, which just crossed the line.
With this victory, Dortmund will head to Manchester City on November 5, holding seven points after three matches, while Copenhagen remains winless, having drawn with Bayer Leverkusen and lost 2-0 to Qarabag.
