Brentford Signs Dango Ouattara in Club Record Deal
Brentford has finalized a club record transfer deal worth up to £42.5 million for Bournemouth forward Dango Ouattara.
The 23-year-old is expected to travel to London on Friday to undergo a medical examination.
Sources close to Ouattara have informed BBC Sport that he is eager to leave Bournemouth due to his limited playing time at the Vitality Stadium.
Last season, the Burkina Faso international netted nine goals in 37 appearances across all competitions for the Cherries.
Nottingham Forest had previously shown interest in Ouattara but have now agreed to a £37.5 million deal with Ipswich for England Under-21 winger Omari Hutchinson.
Brentford had also made a £35 million bid for Hutchinson last month, which was ultimately rejected by Ipswich.
It remains uncertain whether Ouattara's signing will lead to the departure of striker Yoane Wissa from Brentford. On Thursday, Brentford manager Keith Andrews confirmed that Wissa would not participate in their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, amid ongoing speculation regarding his future.
Newcastle United recently had an offer of £25 million, plus an additional £5 million in add-ons, for the 28-year-old Wissa turned down.
