Bristol Rovers Appoint Steve Evans as New Manager
Bristol Rovers have appointed Steve Evans as their new manager in a bid to turn around their recent poor performance.
The League Two team decided to part ways with Darrell Clarke following a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Swindon, marking their tenth consecutive loss in the league and pushing them into the relegation zone.
Evans, 63, has been without a managerial position since March when he was dismissed by Rotherham. In the time since, he has focused on personal fitness, successfully losing seven stone (44.4 kg).
The former Leeds United manager, who has also led Mansfield Town, Peterborough United, Gillingham, and Stevenage among other clubs, is set to make his return to management with his first match in charge against Crewe Alexandra on Friday at 19:45 GMT.
