Inter Milan Dominates Cremonese with 4-1 Victory
Ange-Yoan Bonny played a pivotal role in all four goals during his full debut as Inter Milan secured a commanding 4-1 victory against Cremonese at the San Siro, propelling them to the joint-top position in the Serie A table.
Following a shaky start to the season, where they lost two of their first three league matches, Inter showcased a dominant performance on Saturday, marking their third consecutive league win.
Captain Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring within just six minutes, netting his 158th goal for the club and becoming Inter's joint-fifth highest scorer in history. He capitalized on a low cross from Bonny after both players evaded the Cremonese offside trap.
Despite a flurry of missed opportunities, with Inter registering 15 shots in the first half compared to just one from Cremonese, Bonny marked his first start with a goal, heading in a cross from Federico Dimarco at the near post.
Bonny, who stepped in for the injured Marcus Thuram, assisted Dimarco in the 55th minute, allowing him to fire a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Just two minutes later, the 21-year-old provided his third assist of the match, setting up Nicolo Barella, who deftly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Marco Silvestri to score.
Jamie Vardy made his second appearance for Cremonese after joining as a free agent, but Federico Bonazzoli managed to score a consolation goal, volleying home Jari Vandeputte's cross.
With this victory, Inter climbs to fourth place in the table, tied on 12 points with the top three teams: Roma, Napoli, and AC Milan, all of whom are scheduled to play on Sunday.
Roma will visit Fiorentina (14:00 BST), Napoli will host Genoa at the Stadio Diego Maradona (17:00 BST), and Milan will face Juventus in Turin (19:45 BST).
In other Serie A action, Lazio scored one of the latest goals in the league's history to secure a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Torino. Maurizio Sarri's team came back from behind to lead 2-1 at halftime, but Che Adams equalized for Torino before Saul Coco seemingly scored a 93rd-minute winner for the Turin club.
However, Coco conceded a penalty two minutes later, and after a lengthy VAR review, Lazio's captain Danilo Cataldi converted the penalty in the 102.36 minute, marking the latest goal ever scored by the club in Serie A.
