Kane Shines as Bayern Munich Defeats Pafos in Champions League
England captain Harry Kane continued his remarkable scoring streak, netting two goals as Bayern Munich triumphed over Pafos in the Champions League.
Kane, now 32, has achieved an impressive tally of 102 goals in just 105 appearances for the German club since his £86.4 million transfer from Tottenham in August 2023.
In the current season, he has scored 17 goals in nine matches, including 11 in his last five outings. Additionally, he contributed one goal for England in their recent 5-0 victory against Serbia.
Pafos was playing their inaugural home match in the main phase of the Champions League, but it took Bayern only 15 minutes to open the scoring. Kane finished expertly with a first-time shot after being set up by Michael Olise.
Raphael Guerreiro extended Bayern's lead five minutes later, benefiting from a strong play by Nicolas Jackson. Jackson then scored his first goal for Bayern, following another assist from Olise.
Kane added a fourth goal for Bayern at the 34-minute mark, striking with his left foot from close range. However, the hosts managed to pull one back just before halftime with a beautifully curled 20-yard shot from Mislav Orsic.
Bayern restored their four-goal cushion midway through the second half when Olise scored with a powerful shot into the roof of the net, concluding a convincing victory.
Currently, Bayern Munich sits two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and has won all nine matches this season, scoring a total of 35 goals. They have also secured two wins from two in the Champions League.
