Nottingham Forest Considers Sean Dyche as Potential Replacement for Ange Postecoglou
Nottingham Forest is considering Sean Dyche as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou if they decide to part ways with their under-pressure head coach.
According to BBC Sport, Postecoglou's future at the City Ground has become increasingly uncertain following a seven-match winless streak since his appointment.
The 60-year-old remains in charge of Forest, but last Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Premier League, which was viewed as a crucial match for his tenure, has raised further doubts about his position.
Well-placed sources have indicated that Dyche is a candidate to succeed Postecoglou, who took over from Nuno Espirito Santo in September.
The 54-year-old Dyche has been without a managerial role since leaving Everton in January. He was linked to the vacant managerial position at Rangers last week, but sources suggest he is unlikely to pursue that opportunity.
Nottingham Forest, however, may be more appealing to Dyche, who resides relatively close to Nottingham and began his career as a youth player at the club.
Former City Ground favorites Ian Woan and Steve Stone have also been long-time members of Dyche’s coaching staff during his tenures at Burnley and Everton.
If Forest opts to pursue Dyche, they will not be required to pay any compensation. Given that they have already dismissed Nuno this season, the potential financial implications of Postecoglou's departure could influence the club’s decision regarding any replacement.
