Port Vale Appoints Jon Brady as New Manager
Port Vale has appointed former Northampton Town manager Jon Brady to lead the team on an 18-month contract.
The 50-year-old Australian takes over from Darren Moore, who was dismissed on December 28 after the team suffered seven defeats in nine matches, leaving them at the bottom of the League One table, ten points adrift of safety.
Brady, who stepped down as manager of Northampton just over a year ago, faces the challenge of guiding Vale, who have managed only four wins in 23 games this season, to remain in the third tier of English football.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jon to Vale Park as the club’s new manager,” said Vale Chief Executive Matt Hancock in a club statement. “Jon was the standout candidate at the end of a thorough recruitment process, with his experience and passion for returning to management here at Port Vale really shining through.”
