PSG's Desire Doue Faces Injury Setback After Draw with Lorient
Paris St-Germain forward Desire Doue is facing another period on the sidelines after leaving the stadium on crutches following his team's 1-1 draw with Lorient on Wednesday.
Doue, 20, was visibly distressed as he was stretchered off the field after sustaining an injury to his right thigh during the 60th minute of the match.
This injury comes shortly after his return to play following a calf injury incurred while representing France during the September international break.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique expressed concern, stating, "It’s always bad news when there are injuries. It’s a strange injury; I don’t know exactly his condition. I hope it’s not a serious injury."
After the match, the AFP news agency reported that Doue was seen leaving the Stade du Moustoir on crutches, unable to put weight on his right leg as he boarded the PSG bus.
Doue had a standout season in 2024-25, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists in 61 appearances, helping PSG secure their first Champions League title along with a domestic double.
Just last week, he scored his first two goals of the season in a commanding 7-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, followed by another goal in PSG’s 3-0 league win against Brest on Saturday.
Despite this setback, PSG remains at the top of Ligue 1, holding a one-point lead, even after dropping points for the fourth time this season, as Marseille drew 2-2 with Angers and Lyon played to a 3-3 draw with Paris FC.
