PSG Secures Victory with Hakimi's Brace Against Brest
Achraf Hakimi's two goals, along with a late strike from Desire Doue, propelled Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) back to the top of Ligue 1 with a commanding 3-0 win over Brest.
Hakimi opened the scoring with his first goal of the season, capitalizing on a lofted through ball from Vitinha.
The full-back then doubled his tally and PSG's lead just before halftime, striking from a tight angle inside the box.
Brest had an opportunity to reduce the deficit after the break when they were awarded a penalty for handball following a VAR review. However, Romain del Castillo missed the opportunity, sending his shot over the bar.
Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele made his return to league action after recovering from a hamstring injury, coming off the bench for the first time since August.
Dembele nearly marked his comeback with a goal but fired over from the edge of the area.
In stoppage time, Doue struck the post but redeemed himself by scoring from inside the box with the final kick of the match.
PSG will continue their Ligue 1 campaign on Wednesday as they face Lorient at 18:00 GMT.
