Rangers Secure Third Consecutive Win Against Dundee
Rangers continued their resurgence in the Scottish Premiership under head coach Danny Rohl, securing a convincing victory against Dundee at Dens Park, marking their third consecutive league win.
Nicolas Raskin opened the scoring with a header, followed by a well-placed finish from Mikey Moore, putting the visitors ahead 2-0 within the first 14 minutes.
With this victory, Rangers climbed to fourth place in the league standings. They had to wait until the 90th minute to extend their lead, with Djeidi Gassama delivering a stunning curling shot, which capped off a dominant performance.
Raskin found himself unmarked at a corner for the first goal, while Moore celebrated his first goal since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur with a precise strike from 18 yards out. Moore had a chance to score again before halftime, but his effort was ruled out after a review revealed that Mohamed Diomande had interfered with the goalkeeper's view.
Despite a fantastic save by Dundee's Jon McCracken to deny Raskin a second goal, Gassama's impressive finish ensured that Rangers secured all three points comfortably.
Rangers Capitalize on Strong Start as Dundee Struggles
Under Rohl, Rangers have maintained a perfect record in the Premiership, experiencing their best league run since February. Although the pace of the game slowed in the second half, it is clear that Rohl emphasizes quick ball movement forward.
In the opening stages, a series of long diagonal passes left the home defense scrambling, allowing Rangers to celebrate two early goals. McCracken was kept busy throughout the match, making several crucial saves against shots from Aasgaard and Gassama, and displaying quick reflexes to deny Raskin's second header.
Moore proved to be a constant threat, frequently moving into central areas. However, Rohl will likely seek more from his strikers, as Bojan Miovski and halftime substitute Youssef Chermiti were largely uninvolved in the game.
Dundee remains at the bottom of the table, having lost five of their last six matches. Their earlier impressive 2-0 victory over an out-of-form Celtic now appears to be an anomaly for Steven Pressley's side. In that match, Dundee took an early lead and fought tenaciously, a spirit that was notably absent in this encounter, despite a slight improvement in the final 25 minutes.
