Inter Milan Triumphs Over Slavia Prague in Champions League
Lautaro Martinez scored twice as Inter Milan secured a comfortable victory against Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
Martinez opened the scoring with a straightforward finish after Slavia goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek inadvertently deflected the ball into his path, allowing him to slot it into an empty net.
Denzel Dumfries extended the lead by converting Marcus Thuram's low cross, further solidifying last season's finalists' dominance.
Martinez later delivered a brilliant pass to Petar Sucic, who was denied a goal by a remarkable clearance from Slavia defender Stepan Chaloupek.
Inter soon added a third goal, with Alessandro Bastoni's cross being tapped in by Martinez in the 65th minute, as Cristian Chivu's team cruised towards victory.
With this performance, Martinez became the first Inter player to score in seven editions of the European Cup/Champions League, surpassing Argentine forward Julio Cruz, who achieved this feat six times.
Slavia Prague managed only one shot throughout the match and were thoroughly outplayed on a challenging night for the Czech side.
