Wolves Consider Edwards and O'Neil to Replace Pereira
Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are among the early candidates to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pereira was dismissed on Sunday following a challenging start to the Premier League season, with the team remaining winless in their first ten matches.
Both Edwards and O'Neil have historical ties to the club and are being considered by the Wolves ownership as they look to fill the managerial vacancy.
Currently, Edwards is with Middlesbrough, which could complicate his potential move to Molineux. Nonetheless, the former Luton Town head coach, who made over 100 appearances for Wolves during his playing career, is regarded as a strong candidate for the position.
The 42-year-old reportedly has the backing of the Wolves board as they initiate the search for a new head coach.
O'Neil is also emerging as a surprising contender for the role, although his appointment would be unexpected given that he was let go by Wolves in December of the previous year. However, with him currently unemployed, the club would not be obligated to pay any compensation for his services.
